1. The junk list appears to be ignored if any Advanced Rules are used, is this true?
No this is not true. They are not mutually exclusive. The AirNote system will sequentially go through filters first and then advanced rules. You can use both filters and advanced rules or stick with only one method. Some people refer to filters as their default rules and then use Advanced Rules for more specific filtering. Unless you are an experienced AirNote user we would suggest you use one method of filtering to begin with.
2. It appears that the ordering of advanced rules are important, please explain.
Yes the order is very important. Filters and Advanced Rules are processed sequentially and a decision is not made until they are all processed. When a message is received at the AirNote Gateway it is evaluated against your Filters first and then your Rules before a decision is made as to what to do with the message.
3.What syntax should you enter email addresses in?
Email addresses need to be full internet addresses, not user friendly names. Below are some examples of valid email formats:
| jsmith@wirelesscorp.com | This would filter only John Smith at Wirelesscorp.com. |
| *@wirelesscorp.com | This would filter any address that came in from wirelesscorp.com |
| jsmith@* | This would filter any email address that started with jsmith |
4. Once I click Save New Settings on Advanced Rules or Filters how long before these take effect.
Immediately. Once it is saved the next
message will follow these rules.
